Dear Mr Conlin,

Thank you for your letter of 18 January. I believe you have already received replies to your other letters from Gavin Barlow. I will not repeat what he has already told you.

For my part, I can only emphasise that the SBA Administration is already putting considerable resources into the campaign against illegal trapping, in full cooperation with, the agencies of the Republic. This is having a real impact on the level of trapping activity in the ESBA, but it would be foolish to expect the campaign to be anything otherwise than a long one, which is precisely what we are prepared for.

I hope this provides you with sufficient reassurance of my personal interest in the matter.

Yours sincerely,

Bill Rimmer
