FKNK replies to minister

The Federation for Hunting and Conservation - Malta (FKNK) referred to recent media reports wherein Rural Affairs and Environment Minister George Pullicino stated that he still awaits proposals for a self-regulation system from hunting organisations.

The FKNK said it has been proposing self regulation for over a decade, and only last April such systems were voluntarily adopted in certain areas by FKNK members, where these worked smoothly. This was also praised by the police and the minister himself.

The minister should also be aware of an FKNK press statement in May, wherein the FKNK insisted that self regulation is the only way forward.

Furthermore, the minister should refer to FKNK's proposal for a self-regulation system which was sent to the minister in June.
